THE WHITSUNDAY ISLAND
Heaven is blue
Off the North-Eastern coast of Australia, the pristine waters around 74 Whitsunday Islands are best seen afloat all year round with its tropical weather. Averaging 31c during November-April, it is perfect to enjoy the water, explore the islands or just lounge around. While in May-October have an average temperature of 25c, the water became crystal clear, perfect timing to see the whales return and marine life emerges breed.
Breathtaking geological wonders of cliffs, cay and lagoons have attracted generations explorers to its doorstep. Concealed in the caves and rainforest are the 9000 years old historic sites of Ngaro Aboriginal people, numerous stone fish traps and rock art can be discovered around the archipelago.
The 74 Whitsunday Islands are part of the renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site – The Great Barrier Reef. Home of over 1500 species of fish, 30 species of whales and dolphins, 411 types of hard corals, and ⅓ of the world’s’ soft coral, it is not an understatement to say it is a monopoly on marine biology.
